Who am I?
Meet Your Hiking Guide in Tenerife
I was born and raised in Helmond, the Netherlands. And in 1998, I was in Tenerife, and my family was still alive during my months, my natural life, and my adventure in the air. Plus, I have a great idea of what it’s like to be part of the recovery:
trail running, climbing, canyoneering, orienteering, and of course, hiking: this is the way to go with the variations of the Earth’s volcanoes.
As a certified mountain and hiking guide in Tenerife, I have completed several official training courses in Spain, including: – Certified Hiking Guide (Guía de Senderismo) – Specialization as a Mountain Guide (Guía de Montaña) – Qualified Guide in Teide National Park – Canyoning Guide Training
I also worked as a guide in underground volcanic tunnel systems, where I learned how the landscape is formed from the inside—and figuratively.
My vision: Personal, Authentic and Sustainable
For me, hiking isn’t just about reaching the summit, but about enjoying the journey. That’s why all my routes are small-scale, personal, and with a strong focus on people, nature, and culture. Sustainable tourism and supporting the local economy are core values in everything we do. Tenerife is much more than sun, sand, and sea. I’d love to show you the true essence of the island: the laurel forests, volcanic mountain ranges, and hidden valleys—places where you can still experience the silence of nature, far from the crowds. I look forward to welcoming you on one of our guided routes and discovering the heart of Tenerife together.
“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.”
